Sierra Nevada Ballet presents ballet’s famous full length story comedy, Coppelia (The Girl with the Emerald Eyes). This hilarious story with roots in reality as well as fantasy tests the relationship of the heroine and hero through the romantic device of a beautiful lifeless doll whose quiet, mechanical beauty contrasts with the charming liveliness of the real life heroine. Adapted from the story by E.T.A. Hoffman, this tale of sneakery, imaginary magic, and drifting love, is choreographed by SNB Founding Director, Rosine Bena and Associate Artistic Director, Ananda Bena-Weber and features beautiful sets and costumes and a cast of over 40 SNB dancers.
