Truckee River access and recreational use are prohibited around the Wingfield Park island during the construction period.

Arlington Bridge Project:

Project Timeline:

• Project Design: Spring 2025 – Summer 2026
• Project Construction: Anticipated to begin in Spring 2025

The Arlington Avenue Bridges Replacement Project is located in the City of Reno between Island Avenue and West First Street and includes the area of roadway through the three-acre, natural island Wingfield Park. The two, nearly century-old bridges have become structurally deficient because of their age and repeated exposure to flood events. The City of Reno owns the bridges, roadway, and Wingfield Park, which is accessible by the bridges.

The Riverwalk Website is proud to announce the launch of the Biggest Little Bike Network in collaboration with the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County and the City of Reno. This transformative project aims to enhance the biking and walking experience in Downtown Reno by creating safer and more accessible routes for all community members. The new road designs will provide ample space for pedestrians, cyclists, scooters, and motorists, ensuring a comfortable and secure environment for everyone. Families can now enjoy leisurely bike rides to Aces Ballpark and downtown events without the stress of parking, while downtown residents will have convenient access to grocery stores and job locations. The network will seamlessly connect key areas such as the University of Nevada, Reno, Downtown, and MidTown, facilitating easy and enjoyable commutes for students and residents alike. Experience a new era of urban mobility with the Biggest Little Bike Network – where convenience meets safety and sustainability.
